Local animals
need your help

The RSPCA West Suffolk Branch is run by a dedicated number of volunteers, whose sole objective is for the welfare of animals.
As a result of such dedication our overheads are effectually nil which results in virtually all money donated going directly to help local animals in need.
The Branch covers the area around Bury St Edmunds and provides help and rehoming for all kinds of animals.
During a typical year we re-home around 100 dogs and over 150 cats and other small animals.
Most have suffered from cruelty; abuse or neglect during there lives.
The Branch also helps in providing subsidised veterinary treatments for pets whose owners are on reduced incomes.

Brought in with no name.
A dog came to us, brought in by our Inspector, extremely underfed, timid and in desperate need of TLC. This sweet natured dog, which we called Alfie, now has a new home.  This picture was taken after he had been in kennels for 1 month. (the picture taken when he came to us is too upsetting to show)

The Branch is often inundated with small animals that are desperate for a new loving home. These pets need as much care as a cat or a dog but sometimes people forget them and consequently they suffer.
But this vital work has a price – our yearly veterinary fees and boarding fees are in excess of £45,000 and this sum (which rises every year) has to be raised by the Branch in order to help local animals.
A legacy or bequest…
will provide crucial funds – we could not carry out our work without such generous support.
If you are making a will, please remember that the West Suffolk Branch and all the RSPCA branches are separately registered charities. So if you would like the animals in your local area to benefit, we would respectfully suggest that your legacy wording reads.

I give devise and bequeath to the RSPCA West Suffolk Branch registered charity number 206965 the sum of £……. or the whole (or a share) of my residuary estate for its general charitable purposes. I declare that the Receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer of the charity shall be sufficient discharge therefore.
This is an explanation of terms relating to ways to give:-

These are just three examples of the many animals that the branch helps during the year, for which we receive no government funding.
Dennis was abandoned in a taped up box just after Christmas. This kitten became very friendly with the love we gave him and soon had a new home.
Skip – a tiny black kitten discovered at the landfill site. He had a broken leg but it soon mended and he now has a great home.
